Southport’s friends of Rotten Row preparing the borders for the North West in Bloom judging on Tuesday July 12.

Brian Quinn said: “We hope to achieve similar results that we have gained over the years. Despite set backs at the beginning of the year due to the weather we have now, hopefully caught up with the work.”

“There is still a lot to do, another 2000 bedding plants to go in, but with our resident and dedicated volunteers, average age 70, we will get it done. Since we started in July 2011 we have amassed the magnificent total of just 14000 volunteer hours this is all down to the hard work of all our volunteers with very little help from outside agencies.”

“The Landscape Group who maintain our grass borders and hedging do a magnificent job especially when it comes to Flower Show and Special days such as the North West In Bloom and Britain in Bloom judging days.”
