Southport’s Friends of Rotten Row Raise another Green Flag Award

By On The Spot News25th July 2016

Southport’s Friends of Rotten Row Raise another Green Flag Award

Rotten Row was very proud to raise their new Community Green Flag Award for the 2016/17. The FoRR turned out in force to witness this very special occasion of the lowering of their old flag and the raising of their new one.

Brian Quinn told OTSNews.co.uk “We are all very proud to have gained this prestigious award for the second year running.”

The Friends of Rotten Row is a group of volunteers dedicated to the upkeep of the magnificent borders of Rotten Row, Southport. Helpers of all ages get together three times a week, to keep the plants and the borders looking looking beautiful…

In 2014 we again entered The North West in Bloom Award for the third year running, our expectations were hopeful that we would again achieve a Level 5 Outstanding. Our dreams were excelled by not only achieving a Level 5 Outstanding but also the top two awards of :

“The City of Liverpool Best Community Award” and the top honour of the “North West in Bloom Trophy for the Most Outstanding Achievement Award”.

This is due to all the hard work and time that our volunteers have put in over the last 5 years. Why not come along and join a winning team of volunteers. In July 2015 we achieved in the prestigious Green Flag Community Award and again in 2016.
