Southport Trinity U10s overcome Phoenix in Cup semi final clash

RESULT | Phoenix 4-7 Southport Trinity 

Southport Trinity under 10s played phoenix at greenbank school in the semi final of the Wilf Jenkinson Trophy, Sunday 2 February 2020.

Missing felix Rodwell due to Wigan Athletic commitments this was going to be a tough game.

Trinity quickly fell behind and Louie Mullen made it 2 to give the host a great start.

Ted Benford got one back before Bailey Kelly made it 2 each with a strike from the edge of the box before Phoenix scored a 3rd to take the lead again before Kelly made it 3 all again then benford scored just before half time to put Trinity in the lead for the 1st time.

The second half started the way the 1st ended with Trinty scoring 3 more before Ted Benford was taken off early to go play rugby for Southport after his 4 goals.

Bailey Kelly (man of the match) and Eddy Vos with the other goal scored by man of the match Bailey Kelly.

Special mention to Louie Mullen who was excellent for the Phoenix.

Onto the final Vs last years cup winners Formby who beat S&B 1-0 in the other semi final in a close contest.
