Southport is set to be soaked by more rain on Tuesday (26th January) as Storm Jonas, that has battered the USA in wintery storms, heads across the Atlantic for the west coast of the UK.
The deluge is forecast to land exactly a month after torrential rain on Boxing Day led to severe flooding across the area.
The Met Office has issued a Yellow Alert for Rain across North West England, with areas covered including: Merseyside, Lancashire, Cumbria, Blackpool, Blackburn with Darwen and Greater Manchester.
The warning is in place between midday on Tuesday (26th January ) and 3pm on Wednesday (27th January).
The US East Coast has seen up to 2ft (60cm) of snow as the blizzard, known as Storm Jonas, sweeps across the country.
A Met Office spokesman said that areas of Britain could see between 100 to 200mm of rainfall as the storm reaches us this week.
