SOUTHPORT takeaway staff fear fox on the run
Worried traders on Eastbank Street and surrounding streets say they fear an urban fox is on the loose.
Over the course of the last few mornings restaurant and cafe owners have found their bins have been rifled through and rat carcasses have also been found in the area.
One takeaway owner who lives in a rural part of West Lancs and works on Eastbank Street said “I’ve seen these signs before and it’s definitely a Fox. I don’t think it could be a cat because this is more ferocious and I’ve never seen a seagull kill a rat. I believe we have an urban fox on the lose probably disturbed out of its hideout by the roadworks.”
Anyone who spots the fox should call the RSPCA and is urged not to approach it.
