Southport snooker legend Les Dodd is through to the World Senior Snooker Finals 2012 after being victorious in the qualifiers at Sheffield two weeks ago.

There were 48 players in the qualifiers and the top two went through to the finals. Les won his qualifying match 2-0 2-0 and 2-1 against Steve Meakin.

The finals consist of 16 players who are picked from a random draw (best of three games). The finals are to be played at the Mountbatten Centre in Portsmouth and will be televised live on SKY Sports on Saturday 27th October at 7:00pm

Les won The 2011 National Seniors in Wales. He said:” I have been practicing four hours a day for the last month and I’m in good form at the moment so there’s no reason why I can’t do well in the competition”. Les is pictured above with his good friend and snooker sensation Jimmy White.
