Southport Sign three players

Paul Carden has announced the signing of three players today as the Port manager continues to build up his squad. All three will feature against Bolton Wanderers on Saturday.

After impressive pre season performances between the sticks ex Chester goalkeeper Jon Viscosi has agreed to join the Port squad and will compete with Andy Coughlin for the number one slot.

willyPhoto: Will BeesleyWill Beesley has also put pen to paper. The ex Blackburn Rovers left back put in several vital defensive displays in last seasons run in before suffering a fracture to his hip which meant he had to prove his fitness, something he has done with flying colours.

Josh-Thompson_Photo: Josh ThompsonFormer Celtic defender Josh Thompson has also signed a deal after last weekends first half display against Everton. The 24 year old centre back has chosen the Merseyrail Community Stadium and Paul Carden to re-energise his career.

Paul Carden said ” All three signings will add depth and quality to my squad. Both Jon and Will have worked very hard in pre season and have shown real hunger and desire. While Josh has chosen to join us after several close season offers which is great credit to everyone here. Josh liked the feel of the club and the set up here which is very encouraging.”

Fans will have the chance to speak to Carden about today’s new signings, among other topics, at the Meet the Manager session in the Grandstand Bar following tomorrow’s friendly with Bolton.
