Southport siege: Man arrested after 2 hour stand off with police
A Southport man wanted by police has been arrested not before climbing onto a roof in a bid to flee from officers.
Police officers attended an address on Albany Road in Southport this afternoon to execute an arrest warrant, Monday 6 February 2017.
The man is then locked himself into a room before trying to leave the building via the roof.
Police negotiators were talking with the man shortly before the arrested him at 3pm.
Merseyside Fire Service and a special rescue devision was also in attendance but not required.
Alexander Road and Knowsley Road were closed during the incident.
