Southport resident nearly loses £45,000 on Online Banking scam

Once again another resident has received a message on his computer stating the system had been compromised.

This was followed by a phone call that his bank account had been compromised by a cashier and arrangement had been made for him to transfer £45,000 to a new account set up for him at another bank, the new sort code and account number was quoted.

The resident attended his local bank, enquiries were made and the bank took appropriate action.

On this occasion no money was lost.
