Andy, aged 70, arrived at Southport Salvation Army in Shakespeare Street this morning (Monday 17th September 2012) and was met by a small group of Corps Members, before continuing to the Charity Shop accompanied by the Commanding Officer.
Prior to having lunch at the Shop, Andy sang, “You’ll never walk alone”, which he does at all his stops, and gave a small talk about the motivation behind his Walk. The Corps has pledged to undertake a fundraising effort to support his Walkathon.
Andy walks 22 miles a day and has already completed 1,728 miles. He is scheduled to complet his walkathon in October 2013.
