A Southport pilot is being held in custody in France after drugs were discovered in his plane last month.
Phil Molyneaux, of Southport, was arrested just before he took off from Abbeville in a light aircraft to fly back to the United Kingdom.
French customs officers said they discovered a large amount of cocaine and heroin in the plane, which have a street value around £450,000.
A spokesperson for the French authorities confirmed that Molyneaux was taken in to custody by specialist custom officers and then handed over to local police.
The investigation is ongoing.
