North West photographer scoops international award with Grace Kelly-inspired shoot

Leading North West Wedding Photographer Matthew Rycraft wins his first International Award in America, with a double cause for celebration, after it was also announced he’s in the finals for Wedding of the Year 2016, with Your Merseyside & Cheshire Wedding Magazine.

North West Wedding Photographer Matthew Rycraft won Silver in last months Second Half WPPI (Wedding & Portrait Photographers International) International Photography Competition. Matthew said, “I’m ecstatic to announce I won silver. To have never have entered this competition before, to then receive their silver award for my first entry is fabulous.” The image, which caught the eye of the judges was ‘The look of Grace’, inspired by Grace Kelly’s wedding day. Matthew collaborated with Liverpool’s very own Fashion Designer Kirsty Doyle, with the winning photograph taken at the Titanic Hotel.

Matthew Rycraft is one of the most sought-after wedding photographers in the North West. As a successful wedding photographer for more than a decade, Matthew has captured the happiest moments of more than 600 happy couples across the region. His work has been published on the front covers of countless bridal editorials and he is also an in-demand contributor to many wedding advice columns in leading magazines.

Matthew continued: “ This is a really exciting new chapter for me and my business, after wining last Years Wedding of the Year with a local Wedding Magazine, I now have 2 more couples in this years finals. In what’s already turning out be an eventful end to 2016 for Matthew, the Southport photographer was announced as the winner of Your Merseyside Wedding Magazine’s Wedding of the Year 2015 competition. His images of stylish newlyweds Kieran and Christopher Taylor-Bradshaw, who tied the knot last year captured readers’ imaginations ahead of dozens of other hopefuls. With 2 more in the finals for 2016, he’s hopeful that the title will be retained with him.
