Southport & Ormskirk are top of the (Triathlon) world
It’s not going to be easy. We face stiff competition from the likes of The Brownlee Tri and the London Tri with thousands of entries; MSM and MNC support, not to mention the odd gold medal or two! That said, both the West Lancs Triathlon and the Southport Triathlon have made it into the shortlist of the 12 best Triathlons in the UK; an enormous feat considering there were hundreds of Triathlons at the nomination stage.
It would be a truly remarkable achievement if either of these local Triathlons were to make the top spot and it is due to the event facilities and the breath-taking routes that we are able to set that we have found ourselves on the cusp of mammoth recognition.
To win, we now need to call upon the good people of Southport and Ormskirk, for without their votes, we cannot win.
Voting is easy. Go to The Running Awards, scroll down the list of 12 until you see Southport Triathlon and/or West Lancs Triathlon and click on the VOTE button.
If either of these local Triathlons win, the benefits will be enormous, not least the recognition but also we are likely to attract larger participation numbers to the event. Larger numbers = more revenue to the Towns.
