Southport Municipal golf course update (Saturday 21st September 2013)
As from Friday 27th September 2013, the contract will be taken back into Sefton councils hands.
It’s sad to see head professional golfer, Cliff Easter go after a nine year rein at the municipal course.
Bootle Golf Course won the bid to remain the bread winner between the two courses, having a £30000 investment from the council injected into it.
A Sefton council spokesperson who can not be named has agreed that the course green fees will rise and aim to make the course private and merge all clubs into one.
OTS News.co.uk asked locals from the park golf course what they thought about the merge and were angry that the clubs history would come to a end.
The assistant pro has been at the club for 26 years has built a great relationship with local golfers and is well liked and has always been there to lend a helping hand.
It’s a sad time for local golfers who choose to use the municipal as its a cheap course.
