Following an ongoing investigation, Merseyside Police and Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) have today (29th May) jointly arrested a 40 year old man from Southport on suspicion of fraud by false representation.
The man, who is suspected of claiming over £100k in fraudulent benefit claims has been taken to custody for questioning.
Sgt Greg Quinn said: “Scammers are often very clever and can manipulate individuals as well as organisations for their own financial gain. We want to make sure that this sort of incident doesn’t happen again, so if you have any information or suspect any wrongdoing, please get in touch.
