The industrial action planned for today, on Tuesday 8th December and on Wednesday 16th December by NHS junior doctors in their dispute with the Government over a new contract has been called off.
Rob Gillies, Executive Medical Director at Southport and Ormskirk Hospital NHS Trust, said: “The decision to call off the strike last night came too late to reinstate appointments and planned operations postponed from today.
“However, patients with appointments for either 8th December or 16th December should attend hospital as planned unless they hear otherwise.”
