Southport Jewish community forced to sell synagogue
Southport Jewish community is considering selling its synagogue to cope with massive rise in cremation and burial fees.
It is expected Sefton Council will increase the cost of creamations or buying a grave plot by up to 25% at a cabinet meeting this Thursday (31st January 2013)
The rise will make charges among the most expensive in the country.
From April 2013, a cremation would cost £750 and the purchase of a grave would be £900.
