Southport has been revealed as being in the top 100 ‘most unfaithful’ towns in the UK according to an adult dating website designed to encourage cheating.
According to Illicit Encounters, an online service which helps facilitate illicit extra-marital rendezvous so that people can be unfaithful to their partners, Southport ranks 85th out of the top 100 most unfaithful towns in the UK.
However the resort’s unfaithful residents can take some solace in the fact that neighbouring Bootle fayres much worse off – having ranked 30th in the list!
Spouses may wish to look away now as according to research, the Illicit Encounters website registers a high volume of web traffic from users in the Southport area.
IllicitEncounters.com is the UK’s largest and longest running dating site for married people.
A spokesperson for Illicit Encounters said: “Established in 2003, they have been providing a meeting place for like-minded married and attached people across the UK for over 10 years.
All users on the site are looking for a little romance outside their current relationship. Whether that’s the occasional bit of flirtatious chat, a regular coffee date, or a full-blown affair, that’s up to them.”
