27th November 2019

The families of patients rushed to Southport hospital in the last two days have flooded OTS News with complaints after beds piled up in corridors and doctors looked visibly overwhelmed

Dozens of patients were left struggling in corridors this week as mounting cases saw Southport Hospital face a deluge of emergency admissions, leaving ambulance bays full and wards overflowing with patients

In some cases doctors and have been forced to treat elderly and confused patients in the corridor with no access to privacy, leaving some upset at the lack of dignity they faced

One family emailed OTS to say “my grandmother was admitted on Tuesday and she has late stage Alzheimer’s she was left so confused and upset by what was going on and we were horrified. It’s not the fault of doctors but something needs to be done nobody can cope.”
