The Southport Hesketh Round Table are out and about in Southport over the next 3 weeks on their fantastic Santa Float.
This year they are being assisted by a variety of different charities every night, including RSPA, the Samaritans, a scout group, guides, schools, Youth Football Team and Southport Gymnastics group. Donations on the nights will be for local charities and community projects and of course the charities assisting on the evenings’ floats.
Marc Foreman, Ways&Means Officer for the Round Table is ecstatic to have this extra assistance this year, and hope to donate more money than ever before. The team have already done two evenings this week covering Ainsdale and Birkdale and this evening they are in the east side of Southport Town.
Check out where they are by seeing their Facebook page (@SHRT1199) and follow the nightly live-link on where they are.
This is especially helpful as it means you don’t need to wait outside for too long as you can follow the route on your smart phone/laptop.
The Southport Hesketh Round Table raises and donates £1000’s of pounds to local charities and communities in the area which have recently included; a new heating system for the 19th scouts hut, de-fibrilator & kit for a NWAS 1st responder, Specialist bereavement training for trainee midwives at Edge Hill (SANDs), Cancer Research UK, a new kit for Southport Gymnastics club and a Minibus for the Southport Youth Club (which is being used for children and young adults on the Duke of Edinburgh Award).
The Southport Hesketh Round Table also organise charitable events like the Mad Dog 10k run, Children In Need and the yearly Bonfire/fireworks display and are always looking for new table members, men aged between 18-45.
They meet twice a month and do activities like clay pidgeon shooting, paddle boarding, skiing, dragon boat racing and many more meals and drinks-related jollies.
