Southport and Formby District, GP on call centre is closed today due to a staff shortage, Saturday 19 March  2016.

Lynne Linaker said: “Whatever you do don’t get ill or let your children get poorly before 8pm tonight because the GP on call service is closed”.

If you require urgent but not life-threatening medical assistance that cannot wait until your GP practice re-opens, please call 111. Following a telephone assessment by NHS111 you will be provided with information about the appropriate service for your health problem. If you are unsure which health care service you need to visit, NHS 111 will signpost you to the most appropriate care for your condition – GP, local pharmacy, walk-in-centre, emergency department or an emergency ambulance response.

If you have a life-threatening medical emergency, please dial 999.

Calls to the NHS 111 service are free from both landlines and mobiles (pay as you go phones need to have at least 1p of credit, although no charge is made).
