Southport gets its very own ‘Time Machine’

A brand new, local service called ‘The Time Machine’ has been formed. It’s basically a mobile cinema which is taken to nursing and residential homes and providing a vintage cinema experience, including films and shorter news articles, adverts and footage from the 1950s and 60s.

Popcorn is also on the menu free of charge. It basically is as close to the old fashioned cinema experience as it can be from the Wurlitzer organ at the start to the national anthem at the end.

Owner & Creator of ‘The Time Machine’, Jim Lawson said:

As far as we know there is no other service quite like this anywhere in the country. People love the idea and it’s going down a treat at groups and homes across the area.

Jim and his ‘Time Machine’ will be at the Brighter Living Partnership,  All Saints Church, Norwood Road, Southport from 2pm on Monday 16th March.
