Result Alfreton Town 4 Southport 2

Alfreton Town came back from 0-1 down to beat Sandgrounders in the Vanarama Conference.

Richard Brodie opened the scoreline on 10 minutes with a  left footed shot from outside the box to the centre of the goal.

Bradley Wood for Alfreton Town levelled the match one minute into the second period from the pen spot putting to the bottom left corner.

Eight minutes later Alfreton Town went 2-1 up after Karl Hawley’s   left footed shot from the right side of the six yard box to the bottom right corner of the net.

Callum Howe  made it 3-1 for Alfreton Town on 62 minutes with a header from the right side of the box.

Two minutes later Paul Rutherford slotted home making it 2-3 with a right footed shot from the left side of the six yard box straight in the middle of the goal.  

Southport remain just above the relegation spot but have a one game in hand on the teams below.

An own goal by Joe Connor put Sandgrounders to bed.

Another 5 year plan by Clapham will be announced later this week??????????
