Carers’ Rights Day, 30th November 2012
Thousands of people looking after sick or disabled relatives at home and may be missing out on vital benefits and support.
Carers can find out more by attending a special Carers’ Rights Day event organised by Southport Community Service Station on Friday 30th November 10am-4pm at 23-35 Scarisbrick Avenue, Southport PR8 1NW
Southport Community Service Station is one of hundreds of groups across the UK who takes part in Carers’ Rights Day, a national awareness day organised by Carers’UK. The aim of the day is to inform carers of the rights, benefits and services that they are entitled to.
Southport Community Service Station will be hosting a number of free workshops and taster sessions to celebrate Carers’ Rights Day. These will include welfare benefits advice by the Department of Works and Pensions, free will writing for over 55s (booking essential), free blood pressure checks, free hand massages by Age UK, holistic therapies, taster art sessions etc.
Christmas Open Day
Southport Community Service Station and Macmillan Cancer Support are hosting an Open Day on Saturday 1st December 10am-3pm at23-35 Scarisbrick Avenue, Southport. It will be opened at 10am BY MEMBERS OF THE CAST OF CINDERELLA and advertised in style by the Liverpool City Town Crier, Terry Stubbins.
Everyone is welcome to come and join us for mince pies and refreshments, including mulled wine.
Shopmobility vehicles are available to hire on this Saturday only 9.30am-2.30pm
