Southport drug dealer jailed after cops bust town supply ring

By On The Spot News16th July 2024

A man from Southport has been jailed for four years and three months for drugs supply offences.

Michael Underwood, 30, of Derby Road, pleaded guilty to being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs (cocaine and ecstasy), concerned in the supply of Class B drugs (cannabis and ketamine) and acquire / use / possess criminal property (money laundering).

Underwood was arrested in June this year following an investigation by Project Medusa officers into the supply of drugs in the Southport area.

He was sentenced yesterday, Monday 15 July, at Liverpool Crown Court.

Detective Inspector Gary Stratton said “Project Medusa and teams across the force are working day in, day out, to tackle county lines drug dealing and the exploitation of young, vulnerable people in our communities.

“Information from the public is vital to continue to breakdown the organised crime groups who bring misery to our streets, and I would appeal to anyone who has information to come forward.”

If you have any information about County Lines activity in your area DM @MerPolCC or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. In an emergency always call 999.
