A team of staff and students from Southport College took part in Canter for Cancer at Aintree Racecourse a 5k race, in novelty horses heads, on Sunday March 6th.
The Science department at the College has a long standing partnership with North West Cancer Research, raising more than £2,000 to date through various fundraising activities organised by students.
Jade is committed to the Canter for Cancer as a family member has been diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma. Jade said “His biopsies and bloods are being researched as it’s such a rare cancer and he was the first in his family to have this type of cancer, so has no hereditary link, but could affect future generations. To raise money and awareness, especially for cancer in the North West, is close to my heart.”
