Southport College Open Evening

24th October 2017

Southport College will be holding their first Open Evening of the academic year on Wednesday 1 November 2017, from 5.00pm-8.00pm. Visitors will have the opportunity to tour the college facilities, meet specialist tutors, participate in subject specific activities and speak to current students about the wide range of vocational courses, Apprenticeships, Higher Education and adult programmes available.

Set amongst some of the very best facilities in the area, the event is open to all potential students, not just those leaving school in summer 2018. Visitors to the event will be able to find out about the College’s wide range of school leaver programmes, flexible and varied adult offer and its broad Higher Education provision. Information will also be available on the night regarding funding adult and Higher Education study with a number of options available including some free courses for adults.

Southport College Principal, John Clarke, will be delivering a presentation to visitors at 6:00pm and 7:00pm in the Innovation Centre on the Mornington Road campus.

John said “We understand that choosing where to study after GCSEs is one of the most important decisions young people make.  This September we saw a significant increase in the number of 16 year olds choosing to study at Southport College after their GCSEs. In addition, due to the exciting new partnership with King George V College we are now in a position to guarantee all school leavers a place on a suitable study programme in September 2018. We also know that returning to learning as an adult can be a daunting prospect. We offer a wide range of study options to adults from short courses through to university level study. There really has never been a better time to stay local to study; whatever your age.

Our open evenings offer the perfect opportunity for prospective students to find out more about our vast range of course choices, purpose built facilities and study support options. We are looking forward to welcoming visitors to our open evening to show them everything that Southport College has to offer.”

The Open Evening will take place at Southport College’s Mornington Road campus. For more information, please email or call 01704 392741.
