Southport Christmas Spectacle Helps Local Hospice

17th January 2020

In November this year the staff at David H Myers Opticians got together and decided they wanted to do something special to raise money for a worthy cause.

Led by Laurie a senior member of the David H Myers professional team a plan was hatched.

The idea was simple.  Let’s bring some festive fun to London Street and raise some much needed funds for our local hospice.  A sleigh was organized, a snow machine borrowed from The Range and a long standing patient was roped in to be Santa who was to be helped by Laurie the elf.  A raffle was organized with 3 hampers up for grabs.

All items in the hampers were donated by local businesses and the staff of David H Myers. Special thanks to Betsy Boo Creations, GLOW Birkdale, The Bottle Room Southport, Tap and Bottles, The Office Bar and Restaurant, Graham Eyes Butchers,  Babyballet Southport,  Formby & Crosby,  Gifts Delight, Lucy’s coffee shop, FBladon & Son Printers.

So the big day arrived and on Saturday 21st December we had a fun charity day to raise funds for Queenscourt.  We could never have anticipated or hoped for such a successful day.  Adults and children arrived, photographs were taken and a wonderful time was had by all.

Icing on the Cake – £650 was raised for a very worthy charity Queenscourt Hospice which provides support for the people of Southport, Formby and the West Lancs area.
