King’s Gardens, Southport is set for a sports filled few months as it hosts part of the Sefton borough wide Street Games programme.

Sefton Council, in partnership with Southport Football Club, will be running weekly Multi-Sports activities every Friday evening, from 6-8pm until October 11.

Children and young people will have the opportunity to take part in a range of sports, such as football, cricket and rounders, delivered by fully qualified and DBS cleared coaches.

Darren Carr, Street Games organiser for Sefton Council, said: “Street Games is a great opportunity for the family to enjoy their local park and is something fun and healthy for young people to participate in. We really want to see more children from across Southport and the surrounding areas come along and take part.

“Coaches and players from Southport Football Club are really keen to put local youngsters through their paces and possibly identify some future stars!”

The events are open to all ages and are completely free of charge. For more information
