Southport Businesses Pledge their Support to Claire House

A group of generous Southport businesses have pledged to support local children’s hospice following a successful year of fundraising

Beauty experts Flutterby Salon, kitchen suppliers The Kitchen Sink, dance school babyballet and eatery Finos have all spent the past twelve months fundraising for Claire House Children’s Hospice, a facility that supports children and young people from Southport with complex medical conditions.

Teams from each business have had great fun raising money for the hospice which relies on fundraising to cover its £6,500 daily cost of care. Completing 1,000ft zip wire challenges, holding teddy bear’s picnics and family fun days all contributed to their fundraising

Lisa Carlin from Flutterby Salon based on Lord Street said; “I first approached Claire House after seeing the hospice on Children in Need in 2011 and since then I have been devoted to raising funds andawareness in Southport”.

Sue Long from The Kitchen Sink said;“It’s a very worthy cause that needs to raise £6,500per day. This is a tremendous amount and we had lots of fun raising over £1,500 so far. We will continue to spread the word and raise the much needed funds for the children and their families”.

Lynn Taylor, Claire House Fundraiser for Southport said; “Claire House is Southport’s children’s hospice so I’m delighted that these wonderful businesses are getting behind our cause. I’m really excited to work with them, and many other Southport businesses, long into the New Year.”
