Southport Bid congratulates Damien Moore MP on delivering £25 million-pound fund for Southport

Southport Bid has welcomed the announcement by Damien Moore MP that Southport will be awarded up to £25 million pounds in a deal that could rejuvenate the towns local economy.

The Directors of the Bid are now coming together to establish a credible plan for the money that will be received.

Chairperson of Southport BID, Susannah Porter acknowledged that Southport has been fortunate to have been allocated this funding from the Government as only 100 towns were chosen and has congratulated Damien Moore MP on his success.

A wide range of organisations will be asked for their input on how the money is best spent with an understanding that the input should not only come from local businesses but also residents.

Susannah Porter, Southport Bid Chair said:

“I want to congratulate Damien Moore MP on his success.”

“It is great news that these funds have been ring fenced for our town and Southport BID intends to support the project team and Damien Moore MP to ensure it becomes a reality. In our view it is essential that all agencies in the town work together to ensure Sefton appropriately invests in Southport, we badly need investment in the town centre, and this is all of our opportunity to make that happen.”
