Southport Aikido Club has recently started Aikido lessons for children – ‘Aiki Kids’.
Aikido is a non-competitive and non-aggressive martial art; its focus is not on winning but on self development which will lead to greater awareness, self esteem, and confidence.
Aiki Kids is aimed at seven to fourteen year olds, who want to have fun while learning an exciting and challenging martial art.
No special clothing is needed to start with; T-shirt and track suit bottoms are suitable at first. We are able to order reasonably priced equipment through our club accounts with martial arts suppliers.
The instructor has coaching qualifications awarded by the British Aikido Board and instructors and assistants are CRB checked.
The class is held at R Studios, just off Shakespeare St on Saturday mornings from 9.00 to 10.00am. The first lesson is always free.
For more information see our website www.southportaikido.co.uk or ring the instructor on 07708 308841.
