Southport Football Club Philosophy

12th June 2017

Today Southport Football Club officially launches its new community football club philosophy. Our goal is to ensure that Southport FC is the most respected community club in the North West and a flagship for Sefton and West Lancashire.

We have worked with both Lancashire FA and the National FA over the past season to develop the philosophy and implement best practice at our club, promoting and supporting volunteer and community participation through football.

We want to create a lasting legacy for anyone who comes into contact with our club and for them to develop a lifelong association whether as players, coaches, officials or supporters.

The youth and juniors section is therefore a key part of our strategy to build up the club and will be closely integrated into the senior section moving forwards.

Youth Vice Chairman Dan Hayes commented “This philosophy is an important statement for us to make as a club and I’m delighted that we can finally make it.

Our philosophy provides direction, purpose and guidance to the process of coaching young players.

We want to provide all the boys and girls at Southport FC the maximum opportunity to develop their football, personal, social, educational and sporting skills to their full potential with the children’s welfare and enjoyment a priority in all decisions we make.”
