A 4-0 victory over 10-man Southport gave Eastleigh the perfect start to the Vanarama National League season.
Jai Reason put the Spitfires ahead shortly before the break, turning his marker and firing past Andy Coughlin.
Southport were reduced to 10 men after Andrai Jones’ two-footed lunge on Joe Partington after 49 minutes.
Eastleigh capitalised on the extra-man advantage as Jamie Turley, Ben Strevens and James Constable all added to the goal tally in the second half.
