Southport 0-1 Torquay United

by
10th October 2015

Alex Fisher grabbed the only goal as Torquay United secured their first National League win under new manager Kevin Nicholson at Southport.

Fisher netted after just two minutes when he latched on to Dan Butler’s left-wing cross.

Louis Almond and Cole Stockton went close for the hosts and Fabian Spiess saved well from Andy Bishop late on.

But the early goal proved decisive in a poor game as the Gulls leapfrogged their fellow strugglers into 22nd.
