The Sopwith Camel project was launched today 25th June, 2015 at 2pm on Bedford Park, Southport.

The Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Merseyside, Mark FW Blundell Esq DL was in attendance to cut the ribbon that has officially launched the plane on its’ journey around the schools.

School Council Members representing EVERY school in Southport were also there to see the plane for the very first time.

The Project has been commissioned by the Southport Learning Parnership (all the schools) who have had the replica built in order to ‘fly’ around the schools as a teaching aid and resource up until the centenary of the end of the war in November 2018.
