Sixth-form pupils put on the style at their winter ball

8th January 2018

Young people from across Sefton including Southport and Formby who attend St. Mary’s Col- lege in Crosby, swapped the study room for the catwalk at this year’s ‘winter wonderland-themed’ ball.

College blazers and ties were consigned to ward- robes as students donned dinner jackets, suits and long dresses for the glittering occasion at the Marriott Hotel in Liverpool city centre. The event, attended by more than 100 students, was organised by a committee of students with the help of Head of Sixth Form Patrick Duffy.

St. Mary’s College principal, Mike Kennedy, said: “The winter ball is an excellent opportunity for our sixth formers to take time out from their A-level studies and celebrate with their friends.

“This year’s winter wonderland event was another first-class occasion, with pupils putting a huge amount of thought, time and effort into dressing up and making it a stylish and fashionable evening to remember.

“I would like to thank the students and staff who helped to organise the ball for all the hard work they put into making it such a successful event, and a great way to mark this very special time of year.”
