Police were called to Asda, Central 12, Southport, this afternoon (Thursday 19th February 2015) following a call from security staff.
They arrived at the scene within minutes and arrested a person on suspicion of shoplifting.
The culprit was put into the rear of a police car and taken away for questioning, along with a bag of evidence.
