‘Shocking’ 10 hour wait for patients desperate for a bed and medical attention

Southport Accident and Emergency is yet again experiencing long delays, say fearful residents.

OTS News has been inundated with messages to state that a number of people have been forced to wait in corridors for over 10 hours while desperate for a bed and medical attention.

One patient who claimed (a retired nurse) said that he was forced to lie in the Corridor on a trolley for seven hours without receiving medical help from doctors or nurses.

This patient told OTS News “after ten hours I signed myself out and visited my GP the following day – the place is a disgrace.”

An emergency situation is yet to be declared, however a warning to residents has been issued by concerned nurses wishing to remain anonymous to ask patients to consider what may be classed as an emergency and what can be treated by the NHS 111 service
