Sefton Welcomes Pokemon Gamers

A number of Sefton’s Council’s buildings and parks are fast becoming the go-to place for Pokemon Go fans.

The popular craze has seen a boom of PokéStops created across the UK that gamers visit to find different characters on their mobile phones using GPS technology.

An influx of visitors have recently been recorded at a variety of places in Sefton including Southport Cemetery, Crosby Library, the conservation area of Lord Street, several parks and The Atkinson.

While we’re thrilled that people of all ages are getting out and about to explore the many attractions and features across the borough, we would like to take the opportunity to reinforce the need to be road safe.

However, during the summer holidays it’s important that everyone, especially children and young people, pay attention when crossing the road.

And, if you’re not sure how to get around, you can download our free Sefton Travel mobile journey planning app. This contains lots of information on public transport, walking and cycling routes and how to connect with education and employment opportunities.

We would also request that people are respectful of others when entering Southport’s Duke Street cemetery.

Good luck catching them all!
