Sefton MBC Twinning Celebration competition
Young budding artists are being asked to design a special logo to mark 50 years of twinning between Sefton and Mons, Belgium.
To celebrate the milestone, school children from across the borough are invited to conjure up a design which symbolises half a century of links.
The design must incorporate the Sefton logo, the Mons crest (available on the Sefton Council website), mention the 50th Anniversary (1964-2014) and any iconic images of Sefton and Mons.
The winning logo will be chosen by the Mayor of Sefton, Cllr Kevin Cluskey, and will be featured on all Mayoral letter heads, the Sefton Council website and used throughout 2013 through to the actual anniversary in 2014.
Mayor of Sefton, Cllr Kevin Cluskey, said: “We are very proud of our close links with Mons and look forward to celebrating 50 years of twinning with them.
“To mark such a special occasion, I hope as many young people as possible take the time to design a winning logo.
“The logo will be used and seen by thousands of people here and in Mons, so please take the time to enter.”
The competition is open in three age categories: 3-7 years old, 8-11 years old and 12-16 years old. All entries will be judged by the Mayor of Sefton with the three age category winners invited to Bootle Town Hall, where the Mayor will announce the overall winning entry.
All entries should be sent to: Twinning Competition, Civic & Mayoral Services, Bootle Town Hall, Oriel Road, Bootle, L20 7AE.
