10.00 – Key Note Speech – Kevin Curley CBE – Voluntary Sector Commentator and recent Chief Executive of National Association of Voluntary and Community Action (NAVCA)
Kevin Curley will be delivering his expert view on the challenges that face the sector today.
Kevin Curley was appointed as Chief Executive of NAVCA in January 2003 and led the charity until February 2012. NAVCA champions and strengthens voluntary and community action by supporting its members in their work with over 160,000 local charities and community groups. Kevin was a member of the Treasury independent challenge group for the spending review 2010. He has also been a member of both the Treasury Third Sector Review Group and the Cabinet Office Public Services Action Plan Steering group. Kevin is now a voluntary sector adviser, offering his services under the name ‘Kevin Curley and Associates’. He writes an opinion column for Third Sector magazine. In 2012 Kevin was appointed CBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours ‘for services to the voluntary and community sector’.
