The Government is currently reviewing Council Tax legislation to give greater flexibility to local councils in how they apply discounts and how resident’s can pay.

 Under consideration is allowing Council Tax payers the right to pay over 12 months rather than 10, which was recently reported in the local pressThe change in payment dates is currently being considered in Parliament and, if agreed, would come into effect from April 1, 2013.

Once details are finalised, Sefton Council will release more information on this.
