Contractors to Sefton Council have bee busy today (Friday 30th November 2012) repairing parts of Scarisbrick New Road, Southport, after vehicles churned up part of the road near Ash Street traffic lights.
According to a local resident the road was churned up in the first place because contractors originally laid tarmac over some metal manholes covers. Guess what, they have covered them over again! As you can see in the photograph above the new tarmac is laid over three quarters of the manhole.
As usual Sefton Council wouldn’t comment on the matter.
