Wobbling grass baffles visitors to the King’s Gardens Southport (otsnews.tv)

Cath Armstrong and her family felt the earth move beneath their feet at King’s gardens this weekend.

Cath captured footage of the ground rippling and bulging under their weight as they were out about enjoying themselves in the gardens.

“We just happened upon it to It was about 8ft sq in area, we were never concerned about falling through:” Cath said.

The strange wobbly effect was caused by water becoming trapped between the impermeable grass-roots and the top soil after recent heavy rains.

OTSnews asked a member of the Sefton Council parks team about the wobbly ground, he quoted:

“We are quite confident it is a shallow recess and not a deep ‘sinkhole’ underneath”.
