SEFTON CARERS CENTRE GETS BEHIND BRITAIN’S BEST BREAKFAST TO RAISE MONEY FOR UNPAID CARERS

SUPPORTING UNPAID CARERS IN SEFTON Sefton Carers Centre will be cooking up a storm on Friday 17th October as they help raise money to support unpaid carers in Sefton by taking part in Britain’s Best Breakfast.

Britain’s Best Breakfast is a national fundraising campaign hosted by Carers Trust, the largest charity for unpaid carers.  The campaign will help raise money to support unpaid carers and give them a break from their caring role and to encourage people to wake up to the realities of caring. There are approximately 34,500 unpaid carers in Sefton alone. Three in five of us will become a carer at some point in our lives. Most of us will know a carer.

The campaign is encouraging people to hold a breakfast event in October 2014 for their friends and family or work colleagues and raise money for Sefton Carers Centre. For more information about the campaign text egg to 70660 or visit.www.britainsbestbreakfast.org

Wetherspoons, South Road, Waterloo will be donating a percentage of all breakfasts sold on the morning of Friday 17th October 2014 to Sefton Carers Centre through their support of the Best Breakfast campaign so come and enjoy a breakfast knowing that you’re supporting unpaid carers in your area in doing so.

Moira Fraser Interim Chief Executive at Carers Trust comments: “We probably all know a carer. It could be your elderly neighbour caring for his wife, the dad across the road caring for her disabled daughter or the boy in your son’s class who cares for his mum who has cancer. Carers come from all walks of life. Please help us help them by getting involved with our campaign.”

Money raised through Britain’s Best Breakfast will help Carers Trust support more unpaid carers through its network of carers centres and schemes. For more information about the campaign visit www.britainsbestbreakfast.org
