Sefton budget Cllr David Barton Proposals 2018

Sefton budget Cllr David Barton Proposals 2018.

Earlier this evening speaking on a plethora of both present and future proposals that, if incorporated into our Local Authority Budget, would ultimately serve to truly benefit communities up and down across the Sefton Borough, ranging from Bootle in the South to Crosby in the Centre and Southport in the North.

These include:

*Utilisation of Strategic or Committed Reserves wherever possible for essential services such as street pavement cleaning initiatives that would see a vast ROI, such as the “MV700 Gladiator” Street Cleaner which has been successfully deployed elsewhere across the UK.

1) Pursuit of further support and incentives for the Southport Market, such as Rent Reductions and marketing. For the benefit of both incumbent and prospective Stall Holders I also sought clarification on the figures tabled.

2) Pursuit of further support and incentives for Contractors, Property Owners and Key Stakeholders, such as Scaffolding, Streetworks and Cherry Piker Licenses when undertaking periodic restorative and regenerative work on their properties.

3) Pursuit of further support and incentives for Car Parking that would encourage both local residents & businesses and prospective residents and investors alike to support our local economy and communities.

Should such items therefore be acted upon by Sefton Council, these would all be greatly welcomed and appreciated by many across our Seaside Town as we seek to improve the Local Community for everyone within the Public and Private Sectors.

In spite of the persistent interruptions by the Opposition on the Opposite Benches, I am delighted to have been able to have raised these collective neighborhood concerns on your behalf, and shall continue my positive and constructive endeavours to achieve the best possible outcomes for all. Onwards & Upwards!
