    Sefton Advice Services goes live

    By 12th January 2015

A website to help Sefton residents find out where to get a range of advice has been launched by a partnership of local agencies.

The Sefton Advice Services website aims to be a one-stop shop of information on where, when and how to access advice services.

The easy-to-use site provides information on organisations that provide guidance on issues including benefits, debt, housing and employment law.

An information section contains links to local and national sources of advice and support, so people can find out more about the issues that are causing concern.

The website has been developed by the Sefton Advice Services project –a Big Lottery funded initiative which brings agencies together to increase access to advice services.

Among other successes, the project has delivered legal training for staff and volunteers working in advice and support organisations. It has also improved systems to speed up referrals between support agencies to help ‘hard to reach’ residents.

Organisations involved include Citizens Advice Sefton (lead partner), Sefton Council, Age Concern Liverpool and Sefton, arvato, One Vision Housing, South Sefton Clinical Commissioning Group, Southport and Formby Clinical Commissioning Group and Sefton CVS.

Liz Reed, Project Leader from Sefton Advice Services, said: “Sometimes, even when assistance is available, those who might benefit don’t always know that support is available or how they can get the help they need.

“This new website provides a one stop shop to guide residents on a whole range of advice from key agencies across Sefton and beyond.

“We are acutely aware that these are very challenging times for many of our residents and communities, and we would always encourage people to seek advice on any issues or problems at the earliest opportunity.”
