SDAA Fishing Club looses stretch of water due to residents protests (Southport)
Southport & District Angling Association (SDAA) recently introduced a number of fishing bays and reed beds to the ‘Three Pools’ waterway at Water Lane, Crossens, Southport.
Following protests and complaints from nearby residents the Environment Agency has decided to remove the new wooden fishing bays and also halted fishing between Water Lane and New Lane Crossens.
SDAA Head Bailiff Steve Johnson said: “This is a tragedy for the SDAA, young fishermen and the community as well. We did all we could to make it fish friendly for children, now it’s going to be a safety issue with the vertical embankment in place”
The SDAA has been financially compensated for its initial outlay.
