School children rescued from bus after crash at Southport accident hotspot

Fire crews have rescued a group of bus passengers after an accident near to St Marks Medical Centre this evening.

Young pupils and elderly pensioners had to be rescued from the emergency exit of the bus after it collided with another vehicle near to the medical centre in Derby Road.

Two fire crews and paramedics were called to the scene shortly after 4pm and helped free the trapped bus passengers The Road was closed for around an hour while emergency services cleared the scene.

There aren’t thought to have been any serious injuries.
